Role Summary
Nawaloka Hospitals PLC is looking for a committed, responsible, and qualified Medical Officer to join our professional medical team. The selected candidate should be capable of providing high-quality patient care and working closely with consultants, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals in a hospital environment. We are seeking a candidate who is willing to work in ICUs and wards and is able to manage patient care with professionalism, accuracy, and compassion.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide professional medical care to patients admitted to wards and ICUs.
- Attend to patient complaints, emergencies, and routine clinical requirements.
- Monitor patient progress and update consultants regarding patient conditions.
- Assist consultants during ward rounds and follow medical instructions accurately.
- Coordinate with nurses and other healthcare staff to ensure smooth patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records, clinical notes, investigation reports, and treatment plans.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations within the hospital.
- Ensure patient safety, confidentiality, and ethical medical practice at all times.
- Support hospital policies, infection control practices, and clinical quality standards.
Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent qualification registrable in SLMC.
- A valid Sri Lanka Medical Council registration is required.
- Previous clinical experience in a hospital environment will be an added advantage.
- The candidate must be willing to work in ICUs and wards.
- Ability to work on roster, shift, night duty, weekend, and public holiday schedules when required.
- Good clinical knowledge and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- A responsible, disciplined, and patient-focused attitude.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
