Medical Practice Support Assistant
Role Summary
Position: Clinic Assistant
Project: Towards Universal access to clubfoot management in Sri Lanka, support to clubfoot clinics in Kandy district.
Duration: 01 Aug 2026 - 30 June 2027
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor timely intervention for children with club foot from identification to follow-up.
- Provide parent education and counselling to ensure adherence to treatment.
- Collect and record patient information in the CAST Community Dashboard.
- Conduct follow-up for patients who dropped out or missed appointments.
- Carry out GF4 follow-up activities and coordinate telehealth consultations.
- Liaise with P&O department and Ponseti service providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Facilitate demand generation activities such as outreach visits and distribution of leaflets.
- Coordinate between departments (Prosthetics, Orthotics, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy) for holistic rehabilitation.
- Support stock management and procurement of consumables.
- Lead emergency preparedness actions and reorganize priorities during emergencies.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Academic Qualification: Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy from UGC recognised universities.
- Experience: 0-1 year experience in a development or humanitarian context.
- Additional Requirements:
- Registered with the local association.
- Previous NGO experience.
- Computer knowledge (MS Office).
- Good physical condition and ability to work in harsh conditions.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills in English and Sinhala.
- Knowledge of disability and development issues in Sri Lanka.
- Sensitized to child protection and gender-based violence.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary context.
