Associate - Mid-Level

Company: Thevaki Industries (Pvt) Ltd

Reports to: Team Lead

Based: Batticaloa Town, Sri Lanka — fully onsite

Experience: 1-3 years

About the client you'll be working for

You will be working on behalf of an innovative UK-based strategy and technology company built on one idea: to return first principles. Their philosophy is human-first and privacy-centric — putting people, not data, at the centre of everything they build.

About the role

We are looking for a capable, hands-on Associate with 1-3 years of experience to join the Batticaloa team. You will take real ownership of pieces of work — building products and tools, solving problems, and delivering a high standard alongside the team.

What you'll do

  • Build, hands-on — develop and deliver products and tools, owning your pieces of work end to end.
  • Research & implement — explore new ideas, tools, and techniques, then put them into practice.
  • Solve problems — break down challenges and find practical, scalable solutions.
  • Improve how we work — spot inefficiency and help build better, more repeatable workflows and processes.
  • Use AI to work smarter — use AI and automation to deliver more, faster, and to a higher standard.
  • Support the team — collaborate closely, share what you learn, and help interns and junior colleagues where needed.
  • Deliver reliably — manage your own work to agreed timelines and quality, and keep the Team Lead informed.

What we're looking for

  • 1-3 years of relevant hands-on experience, with a track record of delivering real work.
  • A genuine builder — comfortable being hands-on, prototyping, researching, and implementing.
  • A learn-and-adapt mindset — quick to pick up new tools and skills, and comfortable in unfamiliar territory.
  • A systems, workflow, and process mindset — spot inefficiency and design better ways of working.
  • Good problem-solving instincts and the ability to work independently once pointed at a goal.
  • Reliable and accountable — you own your work and follow through.
  • Able to work onsite in Batticaloa Town, five days a week.
  • Genuinely interested in AI and new ways of working, and keen to use them to lift productivity and innovation.
  • Clear communicator in English, written and spoken, and a positive, collaborative team player.
  • Open to all backgrounds — engineering, science, software, IT, creative, commercial, or another path.

Why join

  • Real ownership — ownership means meaningful pieces of work from day one, not just support tasks.
  • Build with your own hands — a role for someone who wants to make things.
  • Grow fast — clear room to take on more responsibilities as you prove yourself, with a path toward senior and lead roles.
  • Be part of something new — a company where AI, first principles, and a human-first philosophy change how work gets done.
  • Broad horizons — work spanning pharma, health economics, AI drug discovery, infrastructure, and new sectors as we expand.
