Operations Director
Role Summary
Ceylon Hotels Corporation PLC is seeking an accomplished and dynamic General Manager to lead a flagship boutique hotel. The role requires a strategic yet hands-on leader to balance the individuality of a boutique hotel with the operational discipline of a recognized hotel brand, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and strong financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the hotel's annual business plan, aligning it with brand vision and financial goals.
- Manage and achieve annual budgets, forecasts, and financial targets (Revenue, GOP, NOI).
- Optimize pricing, yield management, and revenue streams across rooms, F&B outlets, banquets, and ancillary services.
- Ensure strong internal controls, compliance, and accountability in financial reporting.
- Ensure the delivery of personalized, gracious service reflecting heritage values.
- Oversee guest satisfaction metrics, complaint handling, and service recovery processes.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance product and service standards for luxury travelers.
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients, travel partners, and the local community.
- Serve as a brand ambassador at events, media engagements, and heritage tourism initiatives.
- Ensure smooth daily operations through structured meetings, inspections, and performance reviews.
- Oversee the implementation of SOPs, brand standards, and sustainability practices.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and statutory regulations.
- Build a motivated, service-oriented team culture and promote staff engagement and professional growth.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or Business Administration; preference for graduates of the Ceylon Hotels School (SLITHM).
- Experience: Minimum 10–15 years of progressive hotel management experience, including at least 2 years as a GM or Resident Manager in a luxury boutique hotel environment.
- Age: Must be under the age of 45.
- Skills: Proven track record in financial management, leadership, and guest satisfaction; strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
