Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Resident Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to strengthen our expanding Orthopaedic and Trauma Services.

Requirements

  • Board Certification in Orthopaedic Surgery recognized by the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine (PGIM), University of Colombo.
  • Registration as a Specialist with the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC).
  • Proven post-board certification experience in Orthopaedic Surgery.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the management of trauma, elective orthopaedic procedures, and musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Excellent clinical decision-making, communication, and leadership skills.
  • A commitment to clinical governance, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive consultant-led orthopaedic care for inpatients, outpatients, and emergency cases.
  • Manage orthopaedic trauma and elective surgical procedures.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical governance activities, and accreditation programmes.
  • Contribute to the development and expansion of orthopaedic services at Hemas Hospital Wattala.
