Technician - Pant & Jacket

Location: Head Office - Colombo 10

Key Responsibilities

• Study and understand garment specifications, tech packs, pattern measurements, and construction details.
• Support the development and production of pants and jackets.
• Check garment construction, measurements, fitting, attaching, finishing, and overall workmanship.
• Identify technical and production issues and provide required solutions.
• Coordinate with pattern makers, sample room, production, quality, and merchandising teams.
• Monitor production operations and ensure correct construction methods are followed.
• Conduct garment measurements and fittings on checks and sample productions.
• Assist with sample constructions and communicate required alterations to sewing.
• Ensure garments meet approved samples, buyer specifications, and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot issues related to sewing, fitting, fabric, trims, and garment construction.
• Maintain records of measurements, recent samples, chart communications, etc.
• Support quality improvement and minimize production defects or rework.
• Follow company safety, quality, and production procedures.
• Pressing and finishing process.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Previous experience as a garment technician, technical officer, sample technician or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of pants and jacket construction.
• Good understanding of garment measurements, fitting, pattern, and sewing techniques.
• Ability to identify construction and quality problems.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to read and understand tech packs and measurement specifications.
• Knowledge of garment production processes and quality standards.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under production deadlines.

Preferred Experience

Experience with woven garments, trousers/pants, blazers, jackets, coats, or similar garments will be an advantage.
