Pharmacy Stores Officer - Nawaloka Hospitals PLC

Role Summary

Nawaloka Hospitals PLC is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Pharmacy Stores Officer to ensure the efficient management, storage, and distribution of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies. This role is responsible for inventory control, regulatory compliance, and supporting the smooth operation of the pharmacy supply chain to ensure uninterrupted patient care.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
  • 1-3 years of experience in pharmacy stores, inventory management, or a similar role. Hospital experience will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical products, storage requirements, and inventory control principles.
  • Familiarity with drug regulations, NMRA guidelines, and Good Storage Practices.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and record-keeping skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to maintaining quality, safety, and confidentiality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify pharmaceutical and medical supply deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper stock rotation using FIFO and FEFO methods.
  • Ensure appropriate storage conditions and the security of medicines and medical supplies.
  • Monitor stock levels and initiate timely reorders to prevent stock-outs or overstocking.
  • Issue medicines and supplies to departments and units according to approved requests.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain documentation, including stock ledgers, Goods Received Notes, and bin cards.
