Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Process Engineer to develop, optimize, and improve operational processes to achieve higher efficiency, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness. The successful candidate will work closely with operations, maintenance, quality, engineering, and other stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities and implement sustainable solutions.
Job Responsibility
- Develop, review, and optimize manufacturing and operational processes to improve productivity, quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Analyze process performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for process-related issues.
- Develop and maintain process flow diagrams, process specifications, work instructions, SOPs, and other technical documentation.
- Monitor key process parameters and performance indicators to ensure processes remain within defined standards and specifications.
- Support the introduction, modification, and commissioning of equipment, systems, and processes.
- Work closely with production and operations teams to troubleshoot process deviations and resolve technical issues.
- Conduct process trials, testing, and validation where required.
- Evaluate risks and implement appropriate control measures to improve safety and operational reliability.
- Support cost-reduction, productivity improvement, waste reduction, and energy-efficiency initiatives.
- Participate in equipment and process improvement projects, including planning, implementation, and commissioning.
- Ensure processes comply with applicable company standards, quality requirements, health and safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
- Prepare technical reports, process analyses, and recommendations for management.
- Collaborate with suppliers, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders when required.
- Provide technical support and training to operations and production personnel.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and root cause analysis.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in process engineering, manufacturing, production, or operations is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of process optimization and continuous improvement techniques.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, process flow diagrams, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with process monitoring, data analysis, and engineering documentation.
Skills and Competencies
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects or priorities.
- Knowledge of health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
- Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability analysis.
- Experience with AutoCAD, engineering software, ERP/MES systems, or data-analysis tools.
- Project management experience.
- Professional engineering certification or relevant technical certification is an advantage.
