Role Summary

GRI is a leading specialty tire manufacturer. As a Procurement Intern, you will gain hands-on experience by supporting real procurement projects, working alongside experienced professionals, and developing practical skills in a dynamic global manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Identifying purchasing requirements from internal stakeholders.
• Obtaining quotations from suppliers and assisting with supplier evaluations.
• Creating purchase orders using the IFS ERP system.
• Supporting supplier negotiations to achieve the best value for the organization.
• Following up on deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods and services.
• Assisting with vendor relationship management and maintaining supplier records.
• Supporting procurement activities in compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Finance, or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Good communication skills in Sinhala and English.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to interact effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency in MS Excel; knowledge of ERP systems (IFS experience will be an added advantage).
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a willingness to learn.

Location

This position is based at our Factory in Badalgama, Negombo.
