Workshop Manager

RTT Group is seeking a skilled and responsible Motor Garage Manager to oversee daily workshop operations, ensure high-quality vehicle service, manage staff and workflow, and maintain strong customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Workshop Operations Management: Plan and coordinate daily workshop activities, ensure jobs are completed within agreed timelines and quality standards, and monitor workshop performance and efficiency.
  • Team Leadership & Staff Management: Supervise mechanics, technicians, and support staff; train, coach, and ensure safe working practices.
  • Customer Service & Job Coordination: Handle customer queries, job updates, and complaint resolution; ensure accurate diagnosis, estimates, and job cards; maintain professionalism and strong communication.
  • Financial & Reporting Responsibilities: Support budgeting, cost control, and productivity targets; prepare reports on job status; ensure proper invoicing and documentation for each job.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as managing a motor workshop/garage or equivalent role.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and workshop processes.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Ability to read and interpret vehicle faults, job cards, and service reports.
  • Basic computer skills (for job tracking/invoicing) if applicable.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Relevant trade qualification (Automotive Engineer/Foreman).
