Role Summary
The GEP Manager provides strategic leadership and ensures the technical quality of Room to Read Sri Lanka’s Gender Equality and Girls’ Education Program. The role involves leading the development of partnerships, driving scalable gender-transformative interventions, and strengthening the capacity of the GEP team through training and performance monitoring. The Manager reports directly to the Country Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Management, Contextualization, Training and Coordination: Design gender-transformative interventions, lead government collaboration, provide technical oversight to GEP staff, and monitor program quality through field visits.
- Planning, Reporting, and Documentation: Develop department strategies, support fundraising through documentation, provide technical input for monitoring and evaluation, and prepare annual program goals and budgets.
- Government Coordination and External Networking: Build relationships with government authorities and NGOs, represent Room to Read at relevant forums, and advocate for girls' education.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field (education, social work, gender).
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in gender equality, education, or youth development.
- Strong planning, supervising, program development, and M&E skills.
- Good knowledge of education issues, teaching methodologies, and life skills.
- Ability to travel frequently to working areas throughout the country.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
