Background: The Family Planning Association of Sri Lanka (FPA Sri Lanka), a pioneer in Family Planning and Reproductive Health Education, is an accredited member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) in the United Kingdom.
Role Summary: The Outreach Unit of the Family Planning Association provides essential SRH and family planning services to underserved, marginalized, and vulnerable communities. The Outreach Unit is currently seeking a committed, enthusiastic young individual for the position of Programme Assistant. The post will be based in the FPA Suwa Sewa Centre Kilinochchi.
Key Responsibilities
- Directly report to the Manager of the FPA Suwa Sewa Centre – Kilinochchi.
- Assist SDP Manager in implementing all projects and programmes as outlined in the annual program budget and reach the set project targets for the FPA Suwa Sewa Centre - Kilinochchi.
- Organize and conduct field-level interventions on the request of the SDP Manager.
- Coordinate and organize Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) programmes.
- Enter service and programme data to the M&E system on time.
- Oversee maintenance of functions of the drugs, medications and medical supplies, including storage, recording and reporting.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly progress reports of the Centre.
- Maintain the Centre's inventory.
- Represent FPASL in the District with the Centre Manager and in his absence.
- Close relationship with service providers.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of the FPA Suwa Sewa Centre Kilinochchi.
- Ensure the proper disposal of clinical and non-clinical waste materials of the Centre /Coordinate with health-related stakeholders to maximize the services.
- Supervise and monitor the Voluntary Health Assistant programme.
- Prepare advance requisitions, check vouchers, settlements, and other finance-related documents for the Manager's signature.
- Any other duties assigned by the Manager.
Job Specifications
- Education: Diploma or A/L qualifications. Knowledge of Sexual and Reproductive Health is an added advantage.
- Experience: 2 to 3 years' experience in project implementation, data entering, and official working in the NGO sector.
- Language competency: Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English and Tamil. Sinhala language competency is an added advantage.
- IT Competency: Good knowledge on MS Office Package.
Contract period: One year (renewable)
