Program Officer (Consultant)
The Asia Foundation is an international nonprofit organization working to solve social and economic challenges in Asia and the Pacific. The Sri Lanka office is seeking a Consultant – Program Officer for a one-year pilot project, Supporting Community-Based Organizations to Combat Violence Against Women. The project aims to strengthen community-based responses to sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) by piloting an accompaniment model for victim-survivors.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and coordinate project delivery, including work planning, grant administration, budgeting, monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
- Maintain effective relationships with partners, consultants, and stakeholders through regular coordination and field visits.
- Prepare high-quality progress reports and communications materials and represent The Asia Foundation at meetings and events.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in women’s rights/gender studies, development studies, sociology, monitoring, evaluation and learning, or a related field.
- At least three (3) years of experience in project management, implementation, monitoring, donor reporting, and stakeholder engagement with an international organization, donor agency, private sector institution, or local NGO.
- Experience working on women’s rights, gender equality, or SGBV is an added advantage.
- Fluency in Sinhala or Tamil (fluency in both is an advantage).
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
Duration and Level of Effort
Full time over a 12-month consultancy period.
