Project Coordinator
Position: Project Officer (Male Candidates Only) – KFHI Elpitiya
Location: Elpitiya (Galle)
Role Summary
Korea Friends of Hope International (KFHI) is seeking suitable individuals to run its works in Elpitiya, Sri Lanka. KFHI is a Voluntary Social Services/Non-Governmental Organization dedicated to fostering lasting change by empowering communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the local context, including government perspectives and plans, ensuring all voices are heard.
- Mobilize and support community groups and stakeholders to improve child well-being.
- Build relationships through home visits, community immersion, and attending social events.
- Ensure programme quality through effective planning, implementation, and monitoring.
- Document and submit progress, lessons learnt, and change stories for reports.
- Conduct community awareness on sponsorship for new programmes.
- Ensure efficient utilization of resources and maintain high standards of stewardship.
- Lead implementation of technical projects within allocated focus areas and ensure proper budget utilization.
Requirements/Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in Community Development, Programme, or Project Coordination, preferably in an INGO context.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, International Development Studies, Community Development, or a relevant field.
- Ability to work efficiently without close supervision.
- Experience in capacity building for local stakeholders/partners.
- Experience in working with children.
- Basic knowledge of development work (child protection, nutrition/health, livelihoods, resilience, advocacy, and cross-cutting themes).
- Strong networking, negotiation, and partnering skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and well-developed written and oral communication in Sinhala or English.
- Ability to ride a motorbike and drive a light vehicle with a valid driving license.
- Residency in Elpitiya district / Galle District is preferred.
