Main Responsibilities

• Welcome and guide visitors through the shelter
• Introduce visitors to the dogs and explain the work and mission of Dogs of Ella
• Promote responsible animal welfare and educate visitors about street dogs in Sri Lanka
• Create photo and video content from the shelter for the CSR & Publicity Coordinator
• Document rescue stories and daily shelter activities
• Coordinate with the shelter team to collect updates and relevant information
• Manage and monitor donation boxes throughout Ella
• Support awareness campaigns, adoption-related activities, and community outreach events
• Assist the CSR & Publicity Coordinator with local tasks requiring an on-site presence

Requirements

• Fluent English & Sinhala communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Confident speaking with international visitors and local businesses
• Comfortable working in a dog shelter environment
• Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently
• Genuine interest in animal welfare, education, and community engagement

Working Environment

This is a field-based position requiring regular presence at the shelter and within the Ella community. The role involves visitor engagement, public education, and local outreach to strengthen Dogs of Ella's visibility and support the organization's long-term mission.
