Public Relations Specialist

PR Executive

Mark and Comm is a boutique strategic communications and PR agency, and the Rest of South Asia PR Agency of the Year 2025. We're looking for a PR Executive who can hit the ground running across the full spectrum of PR delivery, from media relations and content to client coordination and campaign execution.

What You'll Do

• Build, maintain, and leverage strong relationships with journalists, editors, and producers across English, Sinhala, and Tamil outlets covering print, online, socials, TV, and radio.
• Pitch stories proactively and secure quality coverage in tier 1 media.
• Write and edit a range of PR content including press releases, media pitches, feature articles, opinion pieces, interview briefs, and talking points.
• Coordinate and manage client accounts day to day, serving as a reliable point of contact and ensuring smooth delivery across all workstreams.
• Support the planning and execution of PR campaigns, media events, press conferences, and interviews.
• Monitor media coverage and provide clients with meaningful analysis and reporting.
• Translate strategic communications briefs into sharp, on message content and media activity.
• Collaborate across internal teams to ensure integrated, consistent delivery for clients.

What We're Looking For

• 1 to 2 years of agency experience in PR or communications, mandatory.
• Solid, active relationships with journalists across Sri Lanka's media landscape (English, Sinhala, and Tamil outlets).
• Proven track record of securing meaningful coverage in media.
• Strong writing skills across PR formats, with an eye for a good story and the ability to craft a compelling pitch.
• Experience managing client relationships with professionalism and confidence.
• Good understanding of the Sri Lankan media landscape across all mediums.
• Strong news sense and sound editorial judgment.
• Multilingual capability (English essential, Sinhala and/or Tamil highly valuable).
• Good time management and the ability to juggle multiple clients and deadlines without dropping the ball.
