Purchasing Executive
Job Summary
Purchasing Executive oversees all aspects of an organization's goods and services purchasing function. Responsible for planning and directing materials and supply to reduce costs and improve quality, thus ensuring all deliverables are met in a timely, cost-effective manner that meets quality standards and statutory requirements. This role requires a self-motivated and team-oriented personnel who can work expeditiously to ensure accuracy of all transactions.
Job Responsibility
- Develop and implement commodity strategies, including sourcing and supplier selection domestically and internationally.
- Identify and select the right suppliers for different product requirement based on supplier's strength and competence to achieve timely and cost effective RFQ/RFP.
- Analyse suppliers quote and negotiate best prices from selected supply base to meet product's requirement.
- Analyse the spend, risks and needs of the organization to develop the commodity strategies.
- Negotiate and execute contract, agreement and spend rebate with key suppliers to mitigate supply disruption, price increase and achieve a sustainable "win-win" relation.
- Develop and implement improvement plan to Cost Price Reduction, Cycle Time Reduction and minimum inventory for assigned commodities.
- Perform market intelligence and research to identify opportunities for the supply base in low-cost region.
- Develop and cultivate a mutually beneficial relationships and strategic engagement with key suppliers.
- Coordinate with local, regional and global BU (Business unit) to develop and execute sourcing strategies.
- Any other duties as assigned by supervisor
Job Requirement
- Bachelor's degree/diploma in engineering and/or business, or equivalent.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in sourcing/purchasing/SCM- RELATED TO MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to manage multiple projects and establish clear goals and accountabilities to ensure successful implementation of commodity strategies
- Ability to interpret technical document (i.e. schematic/drawings/BOM)
- Working knowledge of ERP system and proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel knowledge
- Ability to communicate escalations, requirements and issues to suppliers, stakeholders, peers and upper management with clarity
- Strong negotiation skills and communication skills in English (both oral and written)
- Team player with good interpersonal skills
- Possess strong analytic and problem-solving skill
- High integrity, reliability and honesty
- Independence and able to work under a fast-paced, goal-oriented and time-sensitive global environment.
