R&D Specialist - Fruit-Based Goods
Role Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Research & Development Officer to join our team and contribute to the development of high-quality fruit-based products for local and international markets.
Location
Around Negombo (Full-Time)
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and improve Frozen fruit-based products including juices, nectars, jams, marmalades, fruit concentrates, fruit snacks, desserts, and other value-added products.
- Conduct product formulation trials, sensory evaluations, and shelf-life studies.
- Research emerging market trends, consumer preferences, and innovative processing technologies.
- Coordinate pilot-scale and factory trials for new product commercialization.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare technical documentation, product specifications, and reports.
- Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and Marketing teams.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science & Technology, Food Engineering, Food Technology, Agricultural Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Food Manufacturing R&D or Product Development.
- Experience in fruit processing, beverage manufacturing, or value-added fruit products will be a distinct advantage.
- Knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000/FSSC 22000, and Sri Lankan food regulations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
