Role Overview

We are looking for a creative and motivated Content Writing Intern to join our Digital Solutions team. The intern will support the content team in creating clear, engaging, and SEO-friendly content for websites, blogs, social media marketing, and other digital platforms.

Key Details

• Internship Period: 6 Months
• Working Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Internship Fee: LKR 25,000/-
• Work Model: Fully remote

Key Responsibilities

Content Writing

• Write clear, engaging, and grammatically accurate content for websites, blogs, landings pages, and other digital platforms.
• Create website content based on client requirements, project briefs, and brand guidelines.
• Write and edit headlines, page content, product/service descriptions, captions, and promotional content.
• Adapt writing style and tone based on different brands, industries, and target audiences.
• Research topics and gather relevant information before creating content.

SEO Content

• Create SEO-friendly website and blog content using provided keywords and content briefs.
• Understand and apply basic SEO writing principles, including keyword placement, headings, readability, and content structure.
• Assist with creating meta titles, meta descriptions, and other basic on-page SEO content.
• Conduct keyword and competitor research when required.

Website Content

• Content for WordPress websites.
• Review website content for grammar, spelling, readability, consistency, and accuracy.
• Work with website developers and designers to ensure content is suitable for the final website layout.
• Ensure website content follows the approved project scope and client requirements.

Content Research & Development

• Research different industries, businesses, products, and services to understand the subject before writing.
• Identify relevant content ideas and topics based on client requirements and current digital trends.
• Assist in developing content outlines, blog topics, and content calendars.
• Verify information and avoid using inaccurate or unsupported information.

Editing & Quality Assurance

• Proofread and edit content before submission.
• Ensure all content is free from major grammatical, spelling, and formatting errors.
• Review content against client/project requirements before submitting it for approval.
• Make revisions based on feedback from the Content Lead, Department Head, or clients.

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with content creators, graphic designers, website developers, SEO specialists, and project managers.
• Follow assigned tasks, deadlines, and content briefs.
• Communicate clearly when additional information or clarification is required.
• Maintain proper organisation of assigned content and revisions.

Requirements

• Freshers with a strong interest in content writing, digital media, and online content creation.
• Undergraduates currently pursuing a degree or professional qualification.
• Candidates who have completed English literature for G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L).
• Candidates studying or interested in English, Literature, Mass Communication, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Journalism, Media, or related fields.
• Strong command of written English, with good grammar and attention to detail.
