Manager - Risk Management & Policy Development

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Group Risk Management Framework and Risk Register.
  • Identify, assess, monitor, and report key operational, financial, strategic, compliance, and reputational risks across the Group.
  • Prepare and coordinate the Group Risk Management section for the Annual Report.
  • Prepare and present monthly and quarterly Risk Management reports to the Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and senior management.
  • Coordinate with business units to implement risk mitigation plans and strengthen internal controls.
  • Develop, review, and standardize Group-level policies, procedures, manuals, and guidelines.
  • Ensure policies are aligned with legal, regulatory, internal control, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with approved policies, procedures, statutory requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Coordinate with internal/external auditors and follow up on audit findings and corrective actions.
  • Prepare periodic risk, compliance, and policy review reports for senior management.
  • Conduct awareness sessions on risk management, internal controls, compliance, and policy requirements.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Risk Management, Law, Internal Audit, Compliance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification in CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, ACCA, CMA, CIA, Risk Management, Compliance, or Corporate Governance would be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years' experience in risk management, internal audit, compliance, policy development, or corporate governance.
  • Experience in a group of companies, diversified business environment, or listed company would be an added advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of risk management frameworks, internal controls, compliance, and corporate governance practices.
  • Excellent analytical, report writing, presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, professional judgement, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
