The University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC) is inviting applications for the post of Scientific Assistant Gr. II (01 Vacancy) under Academic Support Staff Grades.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user and organizational requirements for information systems and prepare documentation.
• Prepare functional and non-functional requirement specifications.
• Assist in design, development, implementation, testing, and maintenance of software applications.
• Design and maintain databases and data repositories.
• Develop reusable software components.
• Integrate data from multiple sources.
• Generate statistical, analytical, and management reports.
• Assist in software testing, quality assurance, debugging, and system enhancements.
• Apply software engineering principles, development frameworks, and DevOps methodologies.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
• Provide technical assistance and user support.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Educational Qualifications (UGC Circular No. 484):
  A First or Second Class (Upper Division) in a Special Degree Examination in Computing; OR
  A Second Class (Lower Division) in a Special Degree in Computing; OR
  A pass in the B.Sc. Special Degree Examination in Computing; OR
  A pass in the B.Sc. General Degree Examination with a recognized postgraduate qualification in Computing.
• General Requirements: Must be a Sri Lankan citizen, aged between 18 and 45, and in good health/character.
