Accountant / Senior Accountant

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are looking for a capable, hands-on and commercially minded Accountant / Senior Accountant to manage the day-to-day finance and accounting operations of our growing tyre and automotive business. The role will have responsibility for accounting, cash-flow management, collections, statutory compliance and financial reporting, while also supporting management to improve profitability and business performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger, payments, receipts and reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and month-end closing.
  • Take ownership of cash-flow management, forecasting and payment planning.
  • Monitor receivables and actively drive customer collections and cash recoveries.
  • Manage supplier accounts, payments and banking activities.
  • Ensure timely VAT, IRD and other statutory submissions and coordinate external audits.
  • Monitor inventory and working capital and highlight key financial issues or risks.
  • Take ownership of cash, payments and banking activities.
  • Provide financial analysis to support profit improvement, cost reduction and business decisions.
  • Support management with financial analysis of potential investments and business opportunities.
  • Work closely with sales, purchasing and operations to understand business performance, inventory, collections and cash-flow requirements.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and continuously improve accounting processes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field, OR a professional qualification such as CA, CIMA or ACCA.
  • Fully or partly qualified candidates with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
  • 3-6 years of relevant accounting/finance experience.
  • Strong practical knowledge of accounting, cash flow, collections and month-end reporting.
  • Experience with VAT, IRD, audits and statutory compliance is preferred.
  • Good Excel and Accounting/ERP system skills.
  • Experience in tyre, automotive, trading or distribution will be an advantage.
