The ideal candidate should possess strong air freight operational knowledge, excellent negotiation and coordination skills, and a customer-focused approach to delivering efficient, cost-effective, and timely freight solutions.

Role Description

As the Senior Executive – Air Freight Export, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day air freight export operations from booking through to final delivery. You will work closely with customers, shippers, airlines, internal sales teams, and overseas agents to coordinate cargo movements, secure competitive freight rates and airline space, monitor shipment progress, and ensure timely execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day air freight export operations, ensuring seamless execution from booking to final delivery.
• Understand customer requirements and provide competitive freight solutions in line with prevailing market conditions.
• Negotiate freight rates and secure suitable cargo space with airlines.
• Respond promptly and accurately to inquiries from internal sales teams and overseas agents.
• Coordinate with shippers to arrange cargo movements and ensure the timely uplift of shipments.
• Plan shipments effectively to meet customer requirements and agreed timelines.
• Communicate flight schedules, shipment updates, and delivery status to customers and overseas agents.
• Ensure the proper handover of air shipment documentation and post-shipment documentation.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively address operational delays or service disruptions.
• Follow up and ensure that Proof of Delivery documentation is received and properly recorded.
• Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and shipment-related documentation.
• Work collaboratively with the team to achieve departmental objectives and key performance indicators.
• Adhere strictly to operational deadlines, company procedures, and professional service standards.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management in line with evolving business requirements.

Requirements

• A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in air freight operations or cargo handling.
• A Higher Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics Management from a recognized institution.
• Membership of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) will be an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of air freight export procedures and cargo-handling processes.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, interpersonal, and coordination skills.
• Customer-service oriented with the ability to understand and respond to customer requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced logistics environment.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a high-performing team.
• Flexibility and a strong commitment to operational excellence.
