Grand Apartments is seeking an experienced Architectural Draftsman to join our in-house design team. This role is focused on preparing detailed architectural drawings, construction drawings, setting-out drawings and authority submission drawings for high-rise residential developments. The ideal candidate should be highly proficient in AutoCAD, have a strong practical understanding of building construction, and be capable of independently producing accurate, detailed and construction-ready drawings with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and coordinate detailed architectural drawings, including:

• Prepare and revise apartment and residential floor plans based on management/design instructions
• Council / Authority submission drawings
• Architectural setting-out drawings
• Structural and architectural coordination drawings
• Brickwork and blockwork setting-out drawings
• Floor and wall tile layout drawings
• Floor levels, ceiling levels and other level marking drawings
• Detailed floor plans, elevations and sections
• Staircase and ramp detailed drawings
• Door and window details and schedules
• Toilet, kitchen and other internal detail drawings
• Architectural shop drawings and construction details
• Prepare area schedules and calculate floor areas, plot coverage and floor area ratio (FAR) as required
• Coordinate architectural drawings with structural drawings and identify discrepancies
• Incorporate consultant, management and site markups into construction drawings
• Revise and maintain drawings based on approved design and site changes
• Prepare and update architectural as-built drawings based on actual completed works

Requirements

• Diploma or certificate in drafting, building services, architectural technology, or a related technical field
• Minimum 4 years of relevant MEP drafting experience, preferably on apartment, high-rise or commercial building projects
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, including layers, Xrefs, blocks, plotting, scaling and construction detailing
• Strong practical understanding of MEP systems and how fittings and components are installed and connected
• Ability to prepare detailed MEP layouts showing pipes, fittings, valves and connections to appropriate scale, using actual component dimensions required for accurate installation and coordination
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural and consultant drawings and independently prepare coordinated construction and shop drawings
• Ability to identify and resolve drawing coordination issues with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of Revit MEP is highly desirable but not essential
