SENIOR CO-WORKER

(SOS Children's Villages – Monaragala)

About the Role

As a Senior Co-worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the Village Director in managing the day-to-day operations of the Children's Village. You will work closely with children, SOS Mothers, Aunties, and co-workers to ensure the smooth implementation of programmes, safeguarding standards, administrative processes, and child development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the effective management and administration of the Children's Village.
  • Coordinate daily activities, programmes, and events.
  • Assist in planning, budgeting, monitoring, and evaluation processes.
  • Guide and support SOS Mothers, Aunties, and co-workers to strengthen family-like care.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, child protection, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in child development and admission committees.
  • Support financial management and operational procedures within the village.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Science, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience).
  • 2-3 years of experience in administration and/or working with children and young people.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Sinhala.
  • Knowledge of child safeguarding principles, policies, and best practices.
  • Strong computer literacy skills, including Microsoft Office applications and digital systems.
  • Ability to multitask effectively, work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and a child-centered approach when working with children, families, and stakeholders.
  • Possession of a valid heavy vehicle driving licence.

This is a residential position and the selected candidate will be provided furnished quarters for Family.
