Senior Data Engineer

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer specializing in Data Engineering to spearhead our transition from legacy Excel-based reporting to advanced, interactive analytics. As a resident expert in BI tools, you will design sophisticated dashboards that transform raw business data into actionable insights, playing a vital role in modernizing our analytical capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Visualization Development: Dedicate the majority of your time to creating high-quality Tableau Desktop visualizations and Power BI reports to replace outdated legacy systems.
• Analytics Modernization: Build new reporting solutions from scratch and maintain a comprehensive library of existing visualizations.
• Technical Support & Governance: Assist the full-stack analytics team with data source development and governance, while providing backup support for Cognos and Excel environments.
• User Enablement: Facilitate the company-wide migration to modern BI tools by managing user access, conducting training sessions, demonstrating new features, and troubleshooting data inquiries.

Qualifications & Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 3 to 5 years of professional experience in a data-centric role.
• Advanced mastery of Tableau and the ability to demonstrate your expertise through a public portfolio (e.g., Tableau Public).
• High proficiency in writing complex SQL SELECT statements.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to act as an 'analytic translator' for stakeholders at all organizational levels.
