Senior Manager Logistics - Spices - Colombo

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end logistics operations, including exports, documentation, freight, warehousing, and shipment coordination.
• Ensure timely movement of goods while maintaining cost efficiency and service quality.
• Coordinate closely with Sales, Origin Operations, Documentation, Finance, Warehouse, and overseas teams.
• Monitor shipment schedules, clearance processes, transport arrangements, and delivery timelines.
• Negotiate and coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, transporters, and clearing agents.
• Identify logistics risks and take proactive actions to avoid delays, penalties, and customer dissatisfaction.
• Improve logistics processes, systems, reporting, and internal coordination.
• Lead, guide, and develop the logistics team to achieve operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, customs regulations, shipping requirements, and company standards.
• Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on logistics performance, costs, and key challenges.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, shipping, export operations, or freight management.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of export procedures, shipping documentation, freight forwarding, customs clearance, and warehouse coordination.
• Experience in commodities, trading, manufacturing, FMCG, agriculture, or export-related industries will be an added advantage.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
