Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Role Summary

SenzMate is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to operate at the intersection of software engineering and agentic AI. This role focuses on evaluating emerging AI-powered development tools and building production-ready AI solutions designed to modernize complex enterprise software systems. You will work independently to navigate intricate codebases, manage technical risks, and architect sophisticated AI orchestration systems.

Responsibilities

• AI Tool Evaluation: Testing tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and Windsurf against large enterprise repositories to document performance and failure modes.
• Experimental Development: Running structured tests for tech debt remediation, code modernization, and automated test generation.
• Tool Construction: Building internal AI-powered tools including chatbots, automated migration agents, and code generation pipelines.
• System Architecture: Designing agent orchestration systems that function across diverse tech stacks and multiple codebases.
• Documentation & Frameworks: Creating AI enablement frameworks, developer playbooks, and technical reports for senior leadership.
• Codebase Analysis: Performing dependency mapping and identifying technical debt within legacy systems.

Requirements

• Professional Experience: At least 3 years in a senior software or AI engineering role, with experience leading large-scale modernization or migration projects.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong hands-on expertise in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript, along with deep knowledge of Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• AI Expertise: Proven experience using and implementing agentic development tools and building production-level AI applications.
• Engineering Depth: Ability to design robust backend services, APIs, and complex system architectures rather than just prototypes.
• Soft Skills: An ownership mentality, proactive communication, high-speed delivery, and excellent written English for client-ready documentation.
