Senior or Junior Food Technology Specialist
Role Summary
DPO Lanka (Private) Limited is seeking a passionate and driven Food Technologist / Senior Food Technologist to support product development, application, and technical services. The role focuses on supporting sales activity by conducting product evaluation, analysis, developing formulations, and preparing prototypes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop application formulations, prepare prototypes, and identify opportunities to scale products.
- Conduct product evaluation, analysis, and organoleptic testing to ensure quality and consistency.
- Estimate new product costs and prepare nutritional information and specification sheets.
- Improve existing formulations and provide solutions for ingredient replacement.
- Troubleshoot customer issues and address technical concerns.
- Analyze R&D findings and communicate insights to sales teams.
- Work closely with Sales, Production, and Marketing teams to support product demonstrations and food styling.
- Conduct in-house shelf life testing, manage laboratory equipment, and maintain technical databases.
- Carry out other tasks and duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in the food industry.
- Strong understanding of bakery, beverages, powder mix products, or meat processing applications is an advantage.
- Strong multi-technical knowledge in food applications.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
- Proactive, independent, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Creative, confident, and comfortable conducting presentations and product demonstrations.
- Ability to start work immediately or on short notice is highly preferred.
