Assistant Manager / Senior Engineer - Quality Assurance

Location: Katunayake

Role Summary

Noratel is a global manufacturer of power magnetics. We are searching for an experienced Assistant Manager – Quality Assurance or Senior Engineer – Quality Assurance to support our growth at our Katunayake location.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee Quality and Environmental (QA & E) activities and ensure compliance with QMS, EMS, and OH&S management systems.
• Handle nonconforming products, customer complaints, and ensure effective corrective actions through 8D methodology.
• Perform internal quality audits and product certification inspections (UL, TUV, VDE).
• Support employee training, motivate teams, and ensure adequate resources for quality and environmental activities.
• Drive cross-functional quality projects (PFMEA/ CTQ based Self Inspection) to improve product quality, environmental performance, and workplace safety.
• Be responsible for quality of manufacturing plants by achieving quality objectives measured via internal reject PPM & customer complaint PPM.

Requirements/Qualifications

• BSc Engineering Degree in Electrical from a recognised institute.
• Additional certifications in Quality Management or Environmental Systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001) are an advantage.
• Proven experience in managing audits, nonconformances, and corrective actions.
• Experience with LEAN manufacturing, Six Sigma, and QFD (Quality Function Deployment).
• Literacy in IT and fluency in written & spoken English is essential.
• Working experience in technical position & management systems such as ISO-9001, ISO-14001, ISO-45001 would be an added advantage.
