SOC Analyst Intern

Role Summary

Durowave is seeking a SOC Analyst Intern to join our remote research and development team. This position offers hands-on experience in security operations, allowing you to work alongside mentors to detect and respond to various cybersecurity threats in a supportive, tech-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic, logs, and security alerts to spot potential anomalies or threats.
• Assist in investigating security incidents and documenting all findings for escalation to senior staff.
• Support the optimization and maintenance of security tools like firewalls, SIEM, and endpoint protection.
• Keep pace with evolving cybersecurity trends and threat intelligence to bolster defensive capabilities.

Qualifications

• Fundamental understanding of operating systems (Linux and Windows) and networking protocols (such as DNS, TCP/IP, and HTTP/S).
• Basic knowledge of incident response, common attack vectors, and core cybersecurity principles.
• Familiarity with endpoint security, firewalls, or SIEM concepts.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly within a remote team.
• Bonus points for: Scripting skills (Python or Bash), experience with HackTheBox or TryHackMe, or beginner certifications like CompTIA Security+ or Cisco CyberOps.
• Education: Students or recent graduates in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related fields are preferred.
