Software Engineer

Role Summary

Siyapatha Finance PLC is the fully owned largest subsidiary of Sampath Bank PLC, a finance company licensed by the monetary board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka under the finance business act No. 42 of 2011.

Key Responsibilities

• Design scalable software solutions and build seamless integrations across applications, middleware, APIs, and enterprise systems.
• Lead peer code reviews to enforce security compliance, reduce architectural technical debt, and set clean-coding standards.
• Work with Information Security and Infrastructure teams to validate deployment configurations and secure DevOps pipelines.
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues, building systems with redundancy and failover resilience.
• Guide mid-level and junior engineers through structural challenges and foster end-to-end code ownership.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, including leading architecture design and mentoring engineering teams within a corporate/enterprise environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a closely related discipline (cloud/AWS/Azure or secure coding certifications are advantageous).
• Strong proficiency in .NET, Python, PHP, Node.js, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Expert knowledge of backend frameworks, microservices architecture, and API design patterns.
• Solid understanding of HA configurations, data center clustering, SAST, and OWASP Top 10 mitigation.
• Proven mentorship ability, structured root-cause problem-solving, and diplomatic cross-functional collaboration with InfoSec, Infrastructure, and Business Analysis teams.
