We are looking for passionate and talented individuals to join our team at Ravana Garden – a sustainable luxury boutique hotel in the south of Sri Lanka.

Commis 1

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations
• Prepare and cook dishes as per recipes and standards
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen
• Support with food preparation, mise en place and ingredient handling
• Work as part of a team to deliver high-quality food to our guests

Requirements

• Male or Female candidates are welcome
• Basic knowledge or interest in Sri Lankan cuisine
• Previous hotel experience is not required
• Willingness to learn and support the kitchen team
• Good attitude, cleanliness and teamwork
• Knowledge of English is an advantage (but not essential)

Sous Chef

Lead. Create. Inspire.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee kitchen operations and ensure smooth daily running
• Prepare and present authentic Sri Lankan cuisine and other menu items
• Maintain food quality, consistency and presentation
• Manage and train kitchen staff
• Plan menus, control costs and manage stock levels
• Ensure hygiene, safety and food standards are always met

Requirements

• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a similar role (Hotel/Restaurant)
• Strong knowledge and experience in Sri Lankan cuisine (essential)
• Leadership and team management skills
• Creativity and passion for food
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Knowledge of English is an advantage
