Sakti Agro International (Pvt) Ltd is a leading manufacturer and exporter of premium cocopeat and coir-based products. We are looking for a detail-oriented and responsible Accountant who will be responsible for both accounting and purchasing functions to support our operations and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting
- Maintain accurate financial records and accounting systems.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare VAT, Income Tax, EPF/ETF and other statutory returns.
- Monitor cash flow, budgets and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Sri Lankan accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Provide financial analysis and reports to support management decisions.
Purchasing
- Identify, evaluate and select reliable suppliers.
- Obtain quotations, compare prices and negotiate terms and conditions.
- Place purchase orders and follow up to ensure timely delivery.
- Inspect and verify quality and quantity of goods received.
- Maintain good relationships with suppliers.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
- Coordinate with stores and other departments to meet requirements.
- Support cost control and procurement planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Professional Qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field (CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in accounting with purchasing/procurement experience.
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles, taxation and statutory compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Tally or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, attention to detail, communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
