Category Manager

Role Summary

Responsible for managing the category portfolio, driving sales, optimizing assortment, and delivering profitability through effective category strategies. The role requires strong supplier management, negotiation, pricing, and promotional planning to maximize growth.

Requirements/Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, retail Management, or commerce.
• Candidates with MBA / Postgraduate qualification in Retail, or Supply Chain preferred.

Expertise

• 3–5 years of experience specifically in category management, buying, or brand management.
• Proven track record of managing category portfolio.
• Experience in Confectionary industry.
• Strong exposure to:
  • Supplier & brand negotiations
  • Pricing strategy and promotions in a competitive environment.
  • Merchandising and assortment planning.
  • Regulatory knowledge (excise, duty-free rules, import/export).
  • Data-driven decision-making (using sales, market share, and consumer insights).
