TAX COMPLIANCE OFFICER
We are on the lookout for and TAX COMPLIANCE OFFICER for our client, which is a well reputed Bank
- Working Location – Colombo 01
- Salary - LKR 100,000.00
Responsibilities
- Tax compliance & administration - Support direct and indirect tax compliance and related administrative procedures and lodge IRD correspondence and maintain orderly, auditable records.
- IRD engagement & case handling - Setup interviews with IRD officers and follow up on timely submissions per agreed timelines and support the Tax Managers in liaising with IRD officers on appeals and default tax collection matters to clear outstanding items in the IRD system. Liaise with IRD to obtain tax clearance for foreign remittances.
- Business support (ad hoc) - Provide support on ad hoc tax requests, including, Client WHT disputes with IRD, Amendments to WHT schedules, VAT / SVAT schedules and related queries, Assist in advising business lines on IIT, AIT, and WHT compliance requirements.
- Process improvement - Act as a mediator/support in workflow automation and streamlining addenda within the tax function.
Role Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a tax compliance and/or advisory role at a reputed tax consultancy firm.
- Member or student of the Sri Lanka Tax Institute (preferred) OR Full or part qualification in CA Sri Lanka / CIMA (UK) / ACCA (UK).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
